Shed Teardown

Before we can put the rustic wood onto the Porchouse, we had to tear down the shed to get to the wood. Apparently, this is oak and not easily removed. Turns out, we could use a sawzall to cut them off and still have plenty of length to fit the Porchouse.

The middle of each piece of wood had nails in it. So I set up a nail removal station and got to work.

C snagged a picture of me at my station.

The pile of boards, without nails of course :)

Solid Oak

This is a look from the side showing all of the miscellaneous sized wood we accumulated from the shed.

C also created these nifty feeders, that we used to hold our cracked corn.

Just a little PVC pipe and a nail to hang it on the tree.

And at clean up time, I was able to use this hook that the Greek gave me to wind up the extension cord.

It's actual purpose is for a ladder stand, but it worked out splendidly for my extension cord.

This week we took a trip to the Home Depot and gathered supplies to make this weekend's endeavors run smoothly. We got some tar paper, and found some perfectly sized windows for the front side of the Porchouse. Not to mention, we scored a $70 utility sink for just $17!!!! And with all we bought at the Depot, we got 0.90 cents off of our gas this week with FuelPerks! SCORE! Just buying these gift cards with my Points Visa, I am saving up points to cash in for one of these. Who needs an oven or a microwave, when you have a convection oven that can fit an entire frozen pizza??? (Yes, C measured the typical frozen pizza to be sure)

Gameplan:
1. Install the new lock to Porchouse door
2. Wrap Porchouse with tar paper
3. Cut in holes for windows
4. Nail on boards
5. Close in the floor
6. Get the water pump working

You see, the list is quite long. It would be nice if the weather would cooperate, but that hasn't stopped us thus far.

I also have a rocking menu planned for this weekend. Sweet sausage sandwiches with peppers and onions, Shepherd's Pie with biscuits and of course Puppy Chow!!
