Cub Cadet...Engage

Yes, that is right folks. We are the proud owners of a "new to us" Cub Cadet lawn tractor.
While we haven't mowed any grass with it yet, we have reason to believe that this vintage tractor will be a grass mowing machine.

The Cub kind of just fell into our laps one day. C went to order a starter for the Greeks old red tractor at a supply store. The starter was so old, they had to call in their tractor expert. This guy clearly knew his way around a tractor...ALL tractors. He indicated that he fixes up and re-sells tractors in his spare time, which struck up a conversation about what we were looking for in a lawn tractor.

Wouldn't you know it, the tractor that C had been pining for was going to be available very, very soon.

Mr.Sleeveless and C went to pick up the tractor last night. It's larger than your average tractor. Which means, larger than our Ranger truck bed.

Have no fear,  Mr. Sleeveless is here.

Fits just perfectly in the big blue truck :)

Thank goodness they realized that they would have no way to get the Cub out of the truck before they brought it home. They made a quick stop to get these nifty folding ramps. We figure, we will need them to relocate it to the property soon anyways.

C-Getting the ramps ready to go

It was time to put the ramps into position.
Sorry to disturb work time with my photos

The best part was actually getting it out of the truck and onto the ground. I was nervous, but clearly Mr. Sleeveless has done this before. I took pictures of the progression.

C-Pulling the Cub back onto the ramps

Mr. Sleeveless basically said, "I'll take it from here"

Mission Accomplished

Mr. Sleeveless started it up, and put it into the fastest gear there was. Let me tell ya, I was shocked to see this thing move! After a bit of cruising, C thought it would be good for him to give it a try, on the street. It would have been great had it not run out of gas at the end of the driveway.

When things run out of gas, I head for the hills (not the type of hills that require me pushing this machine up them). C and Mr. Sleeveless pushed the Cub up the driveway and safely housed it in the garage. They will argue that I am lazy, but I was actually baking them homemade chocolate chip cookies. TRUE STORY!

We scored a really great deal on this Cub Cadet. The bonus is, there are many attachments that we can buy to enhance the uses to more than just grass mowing. To name a few:

1. Tow Spreader
2. 1,000 lb. Steel Dump Cart
3. Double or Triple Bagger
4. Tow behind Lawn Sweeper
5. Tow Lawn Dethatcher
6. Snow Plow
7. Snow Blower

So many uses for this thing and I'm excited to put it to work. In the meantime, I'll be keeping my eyes open on Craigslist for accessories to go along with it.

I just caught up on your osts. Love that old shed. So glad you guys can use the wood elsewhere it's fantastic. This is such a fun way to keep up with what's going on. You'll love the Cub too. Makes yard work fun for a lot of reasons.
