Decorating a house can be difficult enough as it is. Decorating a house with less than 300 square feet is a completely different story. We need to maximize space for storage without cluttering it up.
I love the look of white and feel that it really makes things look crisp and more open. We decided to use pine boards for the flooring much like the one below, as well as the floor. While this might not be the cheapest option initially, in the long run we will save on both time and materials rather than going with drywall. With almost everything being white, the wooden accents will really pop. Like on the french doors and the counter tops.

For storage, we wanted something as soon as you walk in to place your things. I really love cubbies and anything that will hide clutter.
I love this option because you cannot see what is in the top shelving unit, not to mention we will use up our massive quantity of free pallets. Additionally, the wood will look great with the mostly white interior. We figured a bench would be a valuable asset because there won't be too much room for sitting besides a small table and chairs.
Have I mentioned that I.LOVE.CUBBIES? Well, it's true. This might be more of a house feature, than a porchouse feature, but I still thought the double side cubby idea was worth remembering.

The bathroom will be insanely small, but we were looking for an alternative to the basic stand-up shower. We wanted to add a little charm. After searching over countless floor plans for tiny homes, we came across a few that we loved. They include a galvanized wash bin as the bathtub. |

The next one is my favorite. We were able to score a free shower head like the one pictured. This way the water will spray down directly into the tub. I also liked the white wood ceiling and floor.
SOURCE: Design Mom For a space-saving heat source we decided to invest in a wood burner, that will obviously be moved into our house at some point. SOURCE: House to Home While we obviously still have some work to go, the outside of the Porchouse is officially completed, and so we better have some idea of what we want on the inside, as construction of that will commence asap! |
