Adding a porch to the "Porchouse"

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the exterior of the Porchouse was just about complete. All that we had to do was add some battens to the outside and then we wanted to put a small deck where the door is. Once we start the process of completing the interior of the Porchouse, we won't want to be walking in and out dirtying it up with our muddy boots. Not to mention we have a fancy roof, so why not have a fancy deck?

We had to close in the roof, that is what they are doing here.

Our neighbor Cliff stopped in to see what was going on this weekend. He became the foreman of the day :)

RobSr. and C dug the holes for the deck support.

Now it was dark out so we started a fire!

I like how this picture turned out.

We started a better fire so I could roast some mallows!

I roast the best marshmallows. Perfectly browned on every side.

Sunday we planned to finish up the deck, and also celebrate RobSrs birthday :)

All of the boards used for the deck came off of the original porch.

Saving the steps for later use!

I think the railing is just the right height to hunt from :)

Mr. Sleeveless and EJ visited to celebrate RobSr's Bday. Just in time to help with the new step installation.

I tried to get an action shot but it is kind of blurry. I made a DELISH butterscotch cake, and we actually ate half of it Saturday night, the second half on Sunday.

I have a feeling I'll be making it again soon, seeing as it didn't last very long.

This week C and I plan to get some porch lights and spotlights to hang. We have gravel being delivered this weekend as well as a potential special guest at the property!!!!
