If you give a man a Bobcat...

He tears the place up! Literally, that is what happened this weekend when C and I rented a Bobcat. As you can clearly see in previous posts, after removing the mobile, we found ourselves left with a muddy mess. Not to mention, some leftover debris from our various fires. Either way, we knew it was about time to plant some grass. But before doing that, we had to do away with the mud and bring up some of that good soil.

Enter: Fat Danny.
Here is the man of the hour, bright and early Saturday morning.

Turning over the mud.

Apparently, there is no such thing as hills when you are in a Bobcat

Yes, that's right. For this job, we stood back and let a professional handle the machinery. These things are seriously amazing. They move dirt, stumps, satellite dishes and full trees! They also cut paths in the woods, but I don't have pictures of that just yet. I captured the tree moving process for you, in case you don't believe me.

And that is where the tree now lays, waiting to be cut up for firewood.

The previous owners must have switched cable companies a lot, there were a million of these dishes everywhere. No match for a Bobcat :)

Not only did we have Fat Danny gracing us with his presence on Saturday, we also had my 2 cousins. Originally, they planned to fish, but they quickly agreed there was work to be done, and we were happy to have the help!

Here is Trapper Ray starting a fire. He also confirmed that my fire starters are in fact, amazing.

That cannot be comfortable...

I wanted to see what it was like in the machine...

And then I decided it would be fun to take it for a spin...

RobSr. is explaining how to turn in this one.

Now I'm unstoppable. I think a career change is in order.

Fat Danny got a lot of work done on Saturday but had to cut out early to cheer on his adorable Granddaughters in a dance recital.

RobSr. was happy to step in and use up those hours we paid for. This is what is left of the shed. Initially, we dabbled in the thought of leaving it up as a "pavilion" of sorts. But the more I thought about it, the more I didn't want my guests to be that close to the road when we have 10 acres of woods. Also, we already tore off half of the shingles, so we would have to repair that if we wanted to keep it up. It was in better condition than I thought and gave the Bobcat a run for it's money.

Notice how the roof is not even breaking apart.

It stayed together the entire time. RobSr. was finally able to bend it until it broke.

We were able to salvage some pretty strong boards from the old shed, but all in all, we were able to have a decent fire from the remains. We added this picnic table to the fire pile as well. It wasn't kind to RobSr. the other day, and he wasn't standing for that....

If you can believe it, even after the fall, it just sunk into the ground.

The Big Bean found this cross in the shed remains. He placed it on top of our gravel pile.

I thought it was a good way to end the night. After all of this work, it's nice to take a moment to think about the Creator of all of this beauty that surrounds us on the property each day.
